Casinos, specifically those operating online and mainly offering poker, were shaken down by double whammy hit particularly last month. First, the US government seized bank accounts being used to pay US online poker players way back the early week last month. Secondly, the World Series of Poker or WSOP started and took a lot of online players to the very popular Las Vegas.
Truly, the casinos, specifically those operating online, were shaken down by double whammy hit particularly last month. But good thing now, as the new month starts, things begin to be better. Players who were affected by the move of US government are now on better situation, they can do money transactions again, particularly they can make deposits again. Also, the WSOP moved towards its latter stages, players who were took by the event to Las Vegas are now back home and now might be playing online again.
For Neil Breltz, “June has not been the best of months for online casinos that offer poker” and that, “but with the WSOP settling down, July should be much better for these sites, and then in August, their business should be back to normal”.
It is still unknown whether the US government is through with their pursuit to stop Internet poker from operating in US. But still, despite of this, hopefully things will be better this month of July. Well some states have tried to stop online poker from operating in their state but have also failed to do so. The US government has taken first step to try to stop online poker from operating in US and this has affected the casinos specifically those operating online that mainly offer poker. But then, there are still doubts about success of US government. There are just more to come on the following weeks of this month of July.
